Lila has been hard at work....
She has supervised for days, and even got a little sweaty herself.
Daddy stepped in to giver her a much needed break.
But it was worth it! See what a little hard work will get you?
Although Lila might want to take the credit, it was a joint effort. We found the plans for this bed on our favorite "how to" website, www.ana-white.com, and Jared was eager to try it. It's super affordable and easy. Of course, my super talented and perfectionist husband had to make some changes (which were definitely improvements) and here is the finished product:
This bed is super sturdy. It has to weigh over 300 pounds! The best part? It cost around $250 to build! As usual, Jared did a phenomenal job and didn't cut corners (figuratively of course). He plans to build coordinating nightstands, a dresser and a chest. I can't wait!
We all like the height of the new bed, although Lila was a little intimidated at first. She got over it quickly and wanted to jump off like this, nearly giving her poor old mom a heart attack.
Jared might end up wishing it hadn't gone so well. I now have a list of projects that will keep him busy for a while!
