Party!

A couple of weeks ago, we celebrated Lila's second birthday with her friends. Why yes, her birthday is December 30, why do you ask?

After over a week of gorgeous, rain free weather, the week of her party was nothing but grey skies. Since we were having about thirty people over, including 12 toddlers, we had all our fingers crossed that the rain would hold off a few hours. It did! We borrowed a bounce just the right size for little ones and set up the ball pit. The kids took a ton of toys outside and had a blast!

We did her party at lunch and served baby pizzas, Goldfish crackers and fruit for the kids. The grown-ups enjoyed chicken salad and croissants. For dessert, an Elmo cupcake cake! I planned to make the cake myself, but quickly realized I am nowhere near creative enough. Thankfully, Sam's makes a great one. It was a HUGE hit (as you can see from the red faces below).

After everyone left, we sat down to open presents. Beckett slept through most of the party, but woke up in time to check out the gifts.

Gramma made this adorable apron for Lila. Such a special gift!

Lila passed out shortly after this. She actually asked to go "night night". That never happens! I'm honestly not sure who had a better day, Lila or me and Jared. Seeing how happy it made Lila was worth every penny and minute spent. I just hope her third birthday party can live up to this one!
