We had one night for dinner with friends and headed to J. Alexander's for cheeseburgers (yum!). Lila and Whitney were happy to see one another!
We ventured to the zoo on Saturday morning. That sentence makes me cringe! We knew it would be crowded, and it was, but it could have been worse. We headed straight to Trails of Africa to view the fruits of Jared's labor. Let me just tell you...he and everyone involved did a phenomenal job! It looks AMAZING! I am so proud of my hubby!
Love the elephant exhibit. Some trainers were feeding them while we were there. You can get a great view of the giant beasts from the sidewalks and even the Safari Cafe.
As you can see, Beckett was impressed.
I wanted to get a picture of the hippo, Tiny. Unfortunately, he was hiding out in the cool mud. The rhino was happy to pose for me though.
After much walking, we finally made it to the fountains. This made every penny and every bead of sweat worth it. Lila was on cloud nine!
Beckett napped in the shade with me for a while, then ventured out into the wild. He enjoyed it too, but looked like he wanted to run with the big kids.
