I am gradually working up my courage to get out of the house with Lila and Beckett. Although the park is the least intimidating, it's still an ordeal. You have to load (and unload!) the 35 pound stroller, remember how to unpack it, secure one child, unload and secure the other child, make sure you have diapers for everyone, drinks, bottle (just in case!), burp cloth, blanket in case of a strong breeze and/or emergency nursing even though you fed him before you left the house, cell phone, remember to lock the car, etc, etc. Mommy is sweating before we even get inside the gates. Then you have to make sure Beckett is safe from whatever dangers are lurking (ie: touchy old people who have no boundaries) AND keep Lila off the playground built for big kids. Whew! And you thought it was just a trip to the park. Well, we ventured to the with some friends last week and here's what Beckett thought about the experience:
He woke up long enough to eat. And dirty his diaper. Already acting like a man!
We had a few moments of calm while Lila was on the swings.
I wish I had a fraction of her energy!
