Weekend Update

It's safe to say we used every single minute of this weekend. My mom and Terry called on Friday and asked if they could come visit. We told them to come on and help us celebrate Jared's birthday. Unfortunately for me, this meant I had to scramble to clean the house!  The dust rag and my coffee table had not seen one another in a long while, so it was definitely time. I'd hate for anyone to see how bad I actually let it get sometimes!

Anyway, Friday was busy - trying to clean, run a few errands, etc. Mom and Terry didn't get into town until later, so they went straight to their hotel.  We got up bright and early on Saturday to hit up a few farmers' markets. Jared wanted to finish our deck, so we left him behind. We went to two farmers' markets, bought lots of yummy tomatoes, peaches, cantelopes and local goat cheese. I brought Lila home, put her down fora nap, then battled my way down 280 to Target. Then it was back home to shower and get ready for dinner.  We initially planned to test the new deck and cook out Saturday night. Unfortunately, the rain came in and thwarted our plan. Instead we went to McCormick & Schmick's and had a fabulous dinner.  We were all exhausted after that and turned in early.

Jared's hard work has paid off though - the deck looks fabulous! We didn't take any before pictures, but let me just say it was bad, real bad.  Here's the Handy-Man and our new and improved back deck:

Rhett (the dog, obviously) supervised the entire project. I believe it passed his strict inspection.
